Dark Jump
A downloadable game for Windows
My submission for GameDev.tv Game Jam 2022.
A simple platform game made with UE5, and my first game ever made :)
Given the theme of the jam (Death is only the beginning) I wanted to go for a post-apocalyptic setting where almost all humanity is dead and the character needs to escape through a portal to another dimension to save herself, but first she has to overcome some obstacles to get to it. I may add some more levels in the future :)
Controls:
- Movement: W A S D keys
- Camera control: Mouse
- Jump: Space bar
- Sprint: Left shift
- Pause: Escape or P key

- 3D assets - Quixel Bridge
- Portal image - Pexels
Known Bugs:
- Sudden drop on FPS sometimes, try lowering graphic settings and limiting FPS if it happens

Install instructions
Unzip the file, open Windows folder and execute the file called DarkJump.exe

Short but not too short. It looks good and the controls are great except for a bit of skidding when you land. But you could also consider that to be a part of the challenge! I also like that there are two routes you can go, I did it both ways. 😺
Glad you liked it! Yes, I noticed about the skidding when landing but didn't know how to fix it :( I plan on hopefully fixing it in the future when I learn how :) also, there are actually 3 routes you can use to get to the end :D
